AHERA Building Inspector Training
This course has nationwide approval and is recognized in all states. Developed to meet requirements for performing inspections in schools (grades K-12) as described by EPA 40 CFR Part 763 (AHERA), 40 CFR Part 61 (NESHAPS), OSHA 29 CFR Parts 1910, 1915, and 1926, and Washington State WAC 296-62-07721. Both initial certification and refresher courses available.
AHERA Building Inspector Basic
This 24-hour (3-day) course was developed to meet the requirements for performing inspections in schools (grades K through 12) for determining the presence, quantity and condition of suspect asbestos-containing materials. The course also provides essential information for the development of management plans and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) programs, and includes hands-on experience in locating, describing, quantifying, assessing, and reporting suspect materials. A comprehensive exam is given on the last day of the course and a Certificate of Training is awarded to each student upon successful completion.
Who This Course Is For
Inspectors who will be conducting asbestos surveys and assessments in schools, public buildings, and commercial facilities. Required for EPA AHERA Building Inspector certification. This course is also a pre-requisite for the Management Planner Course.

AHERA Building Inspector Refresher
This half-day (4-hour) course is required by the EPA to maintain current Building Inspector Certification. It is approved for school (AHERA) work in Washington, as well as those states that do not have their own Building Inspector training program. Handout materials are provided and a Certificate of Training is awarded to each student upon successful completion. This course is also a pre-requisite for the AHERA Management Planner Refresher course.
